Hidden Textile Treasures in the collections of the Sudan National Museum

The following message and newly inaugurated exhibition may be of interest to you.


It my honour and pleasure to inform the Nubian Studies community about a temporary exhibition in the Sudan National Museum dedicated to archaeological textiles.

The exhibition, entitled “Hidden Textile Treasures in the collections of the Sudan National Museum”, was inaugurated on 24th October, and will last until the end of February 2020.

This exhibition is part of the research project “Nubian Textiles: craft, trade, costume and identity in the medieval kingdom of Makuria”, financed from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 665778 and from the National Science Centre, Poland, in the frame of the POLONEZ Grant agreement 2015/19/P/HS3/02100.
